Angie Bledsoe, Director of Client Solutions and Insight at Alight Analytics
Name:

Angie Bledsoe

Title:

Director of Client Solutions and Insight

But what do you actually do at Alight?

I oversee Alight’s client solutions and insight teams, so a big part of my role is providing strategic leadership — both for our team members and, ultimately, our amazing clients.

I want to help them find solutions and approaches that help them seize the opportunities in their business. I think my experience serving in various industries and roles will be an asset at Alight!

You love your job because …

I love that we work in an industry that is constantly evolving and adapting to marketers’ needs. I appreciate that Alight is serving marketers with products and services that enable faster and more insightful decision-making.

And while I’m still getting to know both clients and the Alight team, I’m thrilled to be working with smart, forward-thinking, fun people!

What did you do before you came to Alight?

Directly before Alight, I was the Director of Marketing at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Prior to that, I’ve worked in analytics and marketing leadership roles here in Kansas City at companies such as Hallmark, Freightquote and Evolytics.

Marketers are your favorite people because …

Given that I am a marketer, I would say that the attributes that I’ve enjoyed strengthening are adaptability and persistence.

It is increasingly important to be adaptable to reach an audience in ever-evolving ways, consistently testing and optimizing.

Persistence plays a role because of the need to use data as the guide, building upon what has already been learned, but not being afraid to misstep and redirect as we discover what works best.

What do you do when you aren’t at work?

My husband and I have three children ranging from 8 to 13, so we pretty much live in our cars, toting them to all their activities. As for my own activities, I enjoy yoga and new types of fitness classes. The latest one I want to try is Air HIIT.

People are always surprised to learn that you …

… are a National Hip-Hop Champion as of June 2018! OK, OK, it’s not as cool as it sounds. My son is a dancer. He dances hip-hop, musical theater, ballroom, tap and contemporary. I take classes at his studio for fun.

Last year, the studio owner wanted to put together a competition number featuring a Battle of the Sexes with itty-bitty kids all the way through adults. Naturally, I said yes!

We competed in three regional competitions and then went to nationals in Ohio, where we won! I mean, no one else was in our category, but a win is a win!

Angie Bledsoe and her son love dancing.

If you could remove one food item from existence — ensuring that no one could ever eat that food again — what would you choose?

Ketchup. I know, it’s completely un-American, but I am not a fan.
