KANSAS CITY, MO – Alight Analytics, a leading marketing analytics firm specializing in multi-channel analytics, is pleased to announce the recent hire of four new employees to its company: Andy Maddux, Mike Wieners, Josh Shirley and McKaela Schmidt.
Andy attended The University of Cincinnati for his undergrad where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management. He then started his own business designing, manufacturing, and selling accessories for BMW’s, handling all aspects of the business from customer service, to product design and development, to manufacturing and sales. After graduating from the MBA program at Xavier University with his Masters of Business Administration, Andy joined Alight Analytics as a Marketing Analyst.
Andy is from Cincinnati, Ohio and chose to work at Alight because he was looking for a smaller company that had good people. At Alight, he is able to use the skills he has learned from previous jobs while having the ability to work with a wide range of clients and coworkers.
Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Mike graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with his Bachelor’s of General Studies in Math, Business and Music. He later went on to receive his MBA in Marketing from The University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Prior to Alight Analytics, Mike worked for American Century Investments as their Senior Investment Specialist, mentoring the team, providing help desk support and investment guidance, doing sales, and participating in special projects and business process improvements.
As Alight Analytics’ Marketing Analyst, Mike is interested in the frontiers of digital media, “and that is exactly where this company works,” Mike says. “I love that we solve a real business problem with a solution that is applicable to companies of various sizes and throughout various industries. Our solution is dependent upon our people. Rather than an ‘out-of-the-box,’ ‘one-size-fits-all’ software suite, we consult our clients to provide information they need and insights they can use. It takes smart people to do that and it’s satisfying to do challenging work on a team with so many talented individuals.”
Josh attended Texas A&M for his Bachelor’s in Management and Marketing then went on to graduate school at The University of Missouri – Kansas City for Acting. Originally from Galveston, TX, Josh was raised in the small town of Texas City across the bay.
Before becoming Alight Analytics’ Senior Marketing Analyst, Josh worked in New York City as the Director of Marketing for Douglas Elliman Real Estate. There he dealt mainly with ensuring the sales team was on course for marketing objectives by introducing new tools and training to co-workers, while also providing creative direction to their designers and copywriters when content was needed.
Josh’s title at Douglas Elliman meant that he had to balance a great deal of responsibilities and meet demands for people in a substantial amount of regions. “If you pretend that all of those regions, offices, managers, and agents were individual clients with their own marketing needs and strategies, it’s pretty similar to what I’m doing at Alight,” Josh said. Josh chose Alight for its great people and small feel. “I wanted to work in a place where I can see my impact more clearly. The things I do every day impact the bottom line here. It’s a challenging opportunity to help provide more strategy to the clients. I met many people during the interview process, and just knew I was a fit. Seems like a place where the company really invests in its employees,” Josh said.
McKaela joined Alight after graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Missouri, where she concentrated her studies on Organizational, Interpersonal, and Mass Media Communication and Sociology. While attending school, McKaela worked as a research assistant for The University of Missouri’s Communication Department and as an intern at INK Inc Public Relations.
Originally from Blue Springs, Missouri, McKaela is enthusiastic to be working in in-house marketing for Alight and excited to begin her career as a Marketing Coordinator. “Working as a Marketing Coordinator will be an amazing opportunity for me; I look forward to developing the marketing plan here at Alight!” McKaela said.
