KANSAS CITY, MO – Alight Analytics is pleased to announce the recent hire of four new employees to the company: Brian Armstrong, Cory Cummings, Jonathan Otsuka and Jared Sloan.

Brian Armstrong grew up in Topeka, Kansas. A graduate from Kansas State University, Armstrong received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to obtain his master’s[MJ1] degree in Management from Baker University.
Prior to Alight Analytics, Armstrong worked at Ericsson as a Data Analyst in Managed Services, analyzing data from clients’ wireless networks and translating that into action to improve end-use customer satisfaction.
“If learning isn’t involved, I’m not happy. I view every situation as an opportunity to both learn and share my ideas and knowledge. I wanted to work at Alight because I was looking for a small company with a mission I could really be passionate about,” Armstrong said.
As a Marketing Analyst, Armstrong’s goal is to take his clients’ data and use it to tell a story in a simple and clear way.
Originally from Alliance, Nebraska, Cory Cummings attended the University of Nebraska for his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film Studies and English.
Cummings was previously a Marketing Director for VentureHeat where he lead a team to implement all of the company’s online marketing efforts including paid search, newsletters, web design and SEO.
“I am excited to work at Alight because I share their stance on allowing your data to tell a story so that clients can make smart, informed business decisions,” Cummings said.
In his new role as Web Analyst, Cummings will develop web analytics marketing measurement plans and make recommendations for clients’ websites. Cummings will also be creating and configuring Google Analytics code to help clients identify what metrics will be able to tell their story and better understand their business.
Jonathan Otsuka will be taking over a number of ETL processes as Alight Analytics’ newest Database Developer. Otsuka will be working on extending the company’s current tool to automate the ETL processes as well as working on a testing plan for this to process.
“After meeting with Matt, Alight Analytics’ Co-Founder, and the developers I would be working with during my interview, I got the feeling I would be more than just another developer. I would get to participate in design decisions of current applications but also future projects,” Otsuka said.
Otsuka is originally from Garden City, Kansas and worked at Black Knight Financial Services as a Software Systems Programmer, building and maintaining the ETL process for the tax portion of their MLS Software. Otsuka attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
Otsuka enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee in his free time to keep in shape and is also an avid amateur photographer.
Jared Sloan is originally from Houston, Texas and was raised in Kernersville, North Carolina. He holds a bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College in Business Administration and Marketing.
Prior to Alight Analytics, Sloan worked at the RCA Group in Kansas City. As the Director of Technology and Event Production, Sloan developed marketing and sales analytical documentation for the ESPN X Games, managed the company’s website development, implementation and Google Analytics, developed product offering for tourism and hosted city media impact analysis. Sloan also managed computer network and hardware/software needs and implemented the computer system to record, store and evaluate TV branding.
“I wanted to work at Alight because I was inspired by their product offering and innovation,” Sloan said.
As a Marketing Analyst, Sloan will be simplifying the decision making process by presenting clear findings from clean data and in-depth analysis.
